The school facility on Karaburma is a multifunctional project, where theoretical and practical classes would be held before noon, while workshops and exhibitions would be held during the after noon, on weekends and during holidays. (which would be opened for public)
Object is divided into flexible zones: teaching, workshop and exhibition zone, which could be arranged by levels and connected by fixed and mobile staircases.
Teaching units are arranged around the perimeter of the school, which size is determined by the number of the students. The division of the space is accomplished by the usage of movable partitions, shelves and modules which could be chairs or staircases. The central space is used for individual work, exhibitions and socializing.
The space has different elevations so that bigger machines and models could be fitted in. Lantern provides natural north lighting and ventilation to the whole facility, therefore giving them a higher quality.
The central space on the first floor is organized as a platform with multiple levels, opened and oriented toward the river. The roof emerges from the terrain and forms playful structure which on one hand follows the existing terrain and on the other hand encloses the central platform of the school.
