In the period between May 28th and June 3rd Milos Dimcic of Programming Architecture will be giving the workshop at University of Belgrade on parametric design of free form building facades. The workshop will be held at the room 238 as an intense five day program open to graduate and post-graduate students.

Prilikom analize prirodnog procesa nastajanja rečnih ostrva za poligon je korišćen rečni tok Dunava. Ispitivani su oblici, veličina i položaj ostrva u odnosu na tok i obalu reke. Kao rezultat analize je nastao katalog u kome su sistematizovana sva ostrva od izvora do ulivanja Dunava u Crno more.

The initial concept has been that at such place should be made an object that is not another masive solid form which continues to emphasize the separation of Kosančićev venac and other public spaces that are located all around the whole location.
With this building, I wanted to set up open, inverse space,inside the location, which will allow to preserve the integrity of the block, and to connect individual streets.
The structure exists, but so that she separates and connects at the same time. Outwardly, the facility consists of a series of transparent towers with the function of reading or getting knowledge and various information by different ways. The transparency of these rooms,and great views of the surrounding areas has a symbolic significance, because of opening horizons, spreading awareness, communication, openness and accessibility.

Ovo je biblioteka u kojoj je svako svoj domaćin i samo prati putokaze koji ga vode do željenog žanra, cilja, knjige…
Tri funkcije koje se spajaju u jedno i čine program ove biblioteke su putanja, konstrukcija i sadžaj. Svaka od tri funkcije sadrži ostala dva aspekta u sebi i tako dobijamo jednu matricu koju ponavljamo beskonačno u prostoru koliko nam je potrebno.

The building was initiated by the nature of the sponge, which refers to and reflects fundamental changes in operating environment caused by implication of new working practices, and gives consideration to the changing needs of the architecture. Porosity, as the main feature of the sponge, it is translated into a series of activities which allow different ways to connect multiple partition space.
