The edge effect is observed as an ecotone, transitional area between two adjacent ecosystems with the tendency to show its one features. Boundary zone between urban fabric, river and public park Kalemegdan is seen as a family of lines determining a new beginning, not an end. Project is a research of diverse boundary thresholds and interpretations of a public space as something half way between the forest and the beach. A mechanism of gradient control is established to control the space and its transitional connection with the existing context.
